Culvert Replacement Municipal Assistance: For municipalities. Learn more about our Culvert Replacement Municipal Assistance Grant Program. There are approximately 25,000 culverts and small bridges in Massachusetts - the majority of which are undersized. Culverts that are too small can be barriers to fish and wildlife movement and cause flood hazards for communities. Massachusetts regulations call for culverts to meet the Stream Crossing Standards to help protect our natural resources and our communities. Originally published in 2012, this 2021 update represents the work of 18 authors drawn from State and Federal Agencies, NGOs, academia, and private firms.

Georgia Streambank and Shoreline Stabilization manual: This chapter provides non-structural and structural practices that stabilize and protect streambanks and shorelines from the negative effects of land erosion. For water quality purposes—bioengineering and non-structural practices using native vegetation are preferred over conventional “hard armoring” such as riprap, seawalls, and bulkheads.

Great Lakes Small Funding: New York Sea Grant (NYSG) in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is requesting proposals for projects that serve to benefit the environment and economy of New York’s Great Lakes basin by demonstrating the application of ecosystem-based management (EBM) to local watershed challenges. The small grants program is made possible by the New York State Environmental Protection Fund and Article 14 of Environmental Conservation Law. NYSG is soliciting proposals (up to $50,000) for projects that implement both the goals of the GLAA, as well as actions specifically identified in locally supported plans pertaining to water quality, natural resources, or sustainable land uses (i.e., Coastal Lakeshore Economy and Resiliency Regional Plans, Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan's, Harbor Management Plans, Comprehensive Plans, watershed management plans, etc.).
